Hello, i'm new to CDC6600 Systems.
I want to learn a lot of things about this machine.
I tried Chippewa OS with emulator but it seems to be very basic.
I'd like to try NOS and also need a telnet connexion to allow multiple use
of the virtual CDC.
I tried to find NOS TAP file with google, but i found nothing.
Maybe NOS is under copyrigth yet?

Please, can you tell me where can I download an old version of NOS for
CDC6600?

I like old computers, and i'm very curious about using NOS.

Thanks a lot.

Best Regards.

Emmanuel (Sorry for my poor english ;-) )

I'm also looking for various and sundry pieces of the old CDC
software. I had found something once that I think was NOS (OPL739? was
the zip) but I can no longer find it. I remember it was the source
code. However, I'm not prepared to hand-assemble it (if I was still
single, maybe I would be :-) so I'm wondering if (a) anyone knows if
the TAP format is available from anyone, (b) is the COMPASS assembler
available, also in TAP format, and (c) is this all still copyrighted
by Syntegra, or is any of it in the public domain? (Of course, if
Syntegra still is holding the copyright, my basic question is why? How
many of the old CDC mainframes (and how many are active?) are still
using that code?)

Here's one.

"For a Texan the names of guns and caliber numbers are
magic; Winchester and Colt and Remington and Smith & Wesson;
.30-30 and .22, .44 and .45 and .32 and .38-Special.
You could speak of a Texas boy's growth as his .410, his 20
and 12 guage years."
