Yesterday was the first successful run of my CDC Cyber mainframe
emulator running on a handheld Compaq iPAQ model 3970. The emulation
quite happily runs Chippewa OS which was first running on CDC 6600
mainframes in the mid 1960s.

To get it working I have compiled my latest DesktopCyber with
Microsoft eMbedded Visual C++ 3.0. I then fixed a few include file,
time library and character set (Windows CE uses Unicode) errors and
warnings. Very few other changes were required.

If only we could get those odd-shaped batteries for the way-back
machine...

That'll teach ya to buy the cheap pac rim import. The _real_ thing
is powered by a flux capacitor!

Having worked on a CDC6500 with an 808 disk drive (and others...), there is
something about this that just seems sick...

BTW, what kind of performance do you get?
