Suddenly without any warning, comp.sys.cdc has vanished. Has anyone
got any ideas why and how to get it back?

Best regards

It seems the server you pull news from has dropped it. It is alive and
well on the free German server news.cis.dfn.de.

ISP dropped it as low use / high traffic?
Google groups?

Thanks. Take care, Brian Inglis Calgary, Alberta, Canada

He may be referring to Dejanews (aka "Google Groups")
Google Groups has been fsck-ed since last Friday night (26-Sep-2003).
Even some of the medium-bandwidth groups in the rec.* hierarchy have
disappeared. Luckily alt.sys.pdp11 and alt.folklore.computers are
back since those are the only two groups that really matter! :-)
(oh, yeah, as I write this comp.risks keeps appearing and disappearing
under google groups...I'm assuming I'm hitting different servers
between reloads)
I wish they'd post a web page with even a curt "we're having problems,
please bear with us" kind-of message.
